Acidophilus Supplements

With so many reports over the last few years of probiotics NOT containing viable bacteria, this type of testing gives reassurance that you are getting what you've paid for.

The test was designed to see if the supplement did in fact contain what the packaging claimed it did.

Specifically;

• How many acidophilus are alive and "kicking"! Probiotic supplements are often in an inactive or freeze dried state - if so - are they are able to be reactivated?
• Some products make no claim at all about the number of viable bacteria and others only claim the amount at the time of manufacture. It is much more useful when the manufacturer states how many are present at the Best Before or Use By date.
• Is there a lack of contaminating organisms? The product should contain the bacteria strains that it claims on the label. There should be no other potentially harmful microorganisms or contaminants.

Remember their test is to see if the product contained what the manufacturer claimed.

It is still up to you to evaluate which product might suit you best.
